Agile Government
The thought popped into my head, is there a movement to apply the agile development process to government? A quick google search leads to a bunch of results but I haven’t had a chance to read them yet. Is it a good idea? Is it practical in the sphere of governance? What do you think?
Vortex
So many thoughts and emotions spinning around, I think I need to commit some of it to “paper”.
Grazr Editor - Screenflow Screencast Test on Vimeo (via Vimeo)
Ignore my droning voice, mostly this was just experimenting with screenflow. I also wanted to document the editor, since cross browser window, cross application drag and drop is a unique web technology that no one else has.
Revelation
I wish I wasn’t so busy trying to get our latest product into a generally usable form. Once again I’m seeing tons of posts lamenting the current state of information overload. Many of these people are declaring RSS bankruptcy and abandoning (or declaring the intention to abandon) feed readers.
I just had a revelation on what might be the best way to describe what I seem to be failing at whenever I talk about the problems with RSS readers. A blog post popped into my head that I think makes the best case on what I believe the solution is. If I get any time later tonight I’ll try to write it up.
mmm Beer
I could use a beer right now. :) I didn’t know MarsEdit supported Tumblr too, pretty nice.

Reminder: Blog posts I'd like to write
I’ve got a backlog of blog post ideas I’d like to write.
- Description of a new web technique that we pioneered that hasn’t gotten any attention, but could be a significant addition to web applications in general
- A brief listing of Grazr features, and why features are dangerous to a startup
- Some thoughts on work / life balance and the funk you can get in as an entrepreneur if you obsess too much
- Some startup ideas I’ve had over the years, maybe some things that people could use.

Overlooked Tech
Been thinking about what I really want to write on my blog. One thing I’ve been wanting to write is a technical and philosophical post about a particular technology that we developed for Grazr. This particular technique I think has the potential to really contribute something significant to web applications in general. The product we built didn’t get the exposure I’d hoped for, but the underlying technology is pretty powerful when you think about it. Unfortunately, I think its operation is subtle enough that I don’t think people realize what its potential is.
One of the most frustrating things when working in a startup is when no one notices what you’ve built. Praise is great, criticism is also much appreciated, deafening silence is the worst.
